well I decided to resurface after a summer of networking, job hunting, fliting about and in general making an ass out of myself. I applied to 6 jobs today. two of which are not even in this country. One was in Alice Springs, Australia which had this as the job description:
Utilize a wide variety of specialized electronic equipment for the acquisition analysis and recording of technical data.
and a second one which had the following description:
The employee must be able to walk, cross-country ski or walk with snowshoes, a distance of 2.5 - 3 miles without rest in all seasons, including winter temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit. This duty may be required as often as four times per week, on average. All monitors must be able to climb, crawl and squat in close quarters. This is an 84-hour per week position, where the employee is either at work or on-call at least 12 hours per day, 7 days per week while on site. The work rotation schedule consists of 18 weeks on site followed by approximately 6 weeks of Rest and Relaxation (R&R) time.
To be perfectly honest about it, even with the harsh conditions on tthe second position it seems to be slightly more interesting to me. Probably because there would be no way in hell my parents would ever come to visit me.
Enjoy the school year kiddies
