I recently decided to stop going to the gym in the middle of the day and go first thing in the morning. 20-30 minutes of Cardio(HR=176) followed by 30-40 minutes of lifting.
Upsides of this:
(1) Its a great way to start the day...if you can deal with the cold ass walk to campus
(2) Your body hasn't gotten tired from the day
(3) Metabolism will be higher for a longer period
Downsides:
(1) Getting up early
(2) Its cold out
(3) carrying more bags to campus
I have decided to make some changes to my diet in an effort to loose a little bit of fat that I seem to have acquired over the winter. This includes decreasing my carb intake (by a huge amount) and upping the amount of protein I consume on a daily basis. After a long discussion with someone in the Health Center we decided to aim for a daily consumption of around 125g of protein. Aside from eating 2 pound of beacon a day I was going to need to get a protein supplement (which was done) he also recommended Chromium Picolinate (which was also picked up).
Will report back to see if this actually produces any sort of measurable results.
