I finally got around to doing something thats been on my lsit of stuff to do for a while. Ive always wanted to be able to hook my iPod up to the car stereo so I could listen to it while driving. Anway, after about two hours of searching I was able to find a socket set with the right size adapter and I set out to completely dismantle the dashboard of my car.
Lots of screws later, the dashboard is lying in pieces all over the back of my car and I finally get the stereo out. My intention had bee to thread a RCA -> minidin adapter down and out through the botton og the dash, but things at this point suddenly took a turn for the worse. no RCA adapter in the default factory stereo (puck you GM). Now its time to put the dash back together, this went surprisingly easily and I didn't end up with any extra screws or parts like what normally happens when I take shit apart. Off to some auto parts stores to see if they have some sort of adapter that will go from the default factory stereo to RCA jacks.
No such thing exists. So Ive now got three options (1) Buy a new stereo with RCA jacks in the back of it (2) purchase a FM modulator (3) do nothing and continue to suffer through CDs.
As option (1) is rather expensive and option (3) defeats the purpose of what I was doing I am left with (2). So ive done some research and Ive found a modulator which will work with my radio...no lets see the the 'rents will get it for me.
